“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”

A huge country with over 1.3 billion people  and a population that’s still growing, that’s China for you! Beijing alone has about 15.6 million inhabitants! The country has several spoken languages, varying from mandarin (the official language) to Cantonese. China has a single-party socialist government, and has the world’s second-largest economy in terms of nominal GDP. The country has a rich history, with lots of traditions, one of which they’re well known for eating with chopsticks. China also has a rich history in arts,  literature and music. Their poetry is worthy of praise, and their unique instruments have their own entrancing sound. As far as sports and exercise goes, China is well known for their martial arts, which combines exercise with the art of self-defence. For some people the culture might be surprising, because China is a society where high collectivism is the social norm. It effects every part of life, and even effects politics. Also a high power distance is a part of everyday life, and people are expected to behave accordingly. When speaking to people, be aware that it is a high context culture, which means that you can’t rely solely on spoken words, you have to be aware of the context in which they’re said.
